Selecting an Aventics pneumatic valve for equipment

One of the pneumatic valves on our production line has recently started malfunctioning. Sometimes it activates with a slight delay, although we never had this problem before. The equipment is used every day, so I decided to replace the valve if it is indeed the source of the problem. The old valve already shows noticeable signs of wear, but I’m not sure which model to choose as a replacement. How do you usually select an Aventics valve for a specific piece of equipment?

I had a similar situation with a valve on an industrial press. First, I wrote down the part number from the old valve and took a few photos. To replace it, I ordered Aventics pneumatic components after comparing the markings on the old and new parts. I also checked the operating pressure and the connection type. This turned out to be important because two similar models had different connection options. I also compared the dimensions to ensure the new part would fit without any design modifications. After installation, the valve worked normally, and no additional modifications were needed. Therefore, before ordering, I would gather all the data from the old part and only then select a replacement.

Our company recently replaced several pneumatic parts on one machine. After that, we decided to record the part numbers of all the components we installed. In the past, we often didn’t keep track of this information, so we had to take new measurements during the next repair. Now, each machine has its own list of key replacement parts. This makes future maintenance much easier.
